Control Your PC From Your Phone With AI

Guide · 6 min read · Protime

In short: instead of dragging a virtual mouse across a tiny screen with a remote desktop app, you tell the assistant on your phone what should happen on the PC, and it does it. You need an MCP server on the PC (MCP DeskManager) connected once to Claude or ChatGPT: from then on the assistant's phone app becomes your computer's remote control.

Why not a remote desktop app

Remote desktop apps mirror the PC screen on your phone: they work, but you still make every click yourself, on an interface built for a mouse and a big monitor. With AI the way you work changes: you describe the result (“send me yesterday's quote file”) and the assistant finds the file, opens it, sends it. You just read the answer.

How it works

  1. On the PC you install MCP DeskManager: it creates an encrypted tunnel and gives you a private address.
  2. You add that address as a custom connector to your Claude or ChatGPT account. You do it once, from the computer or the phone.
  3. On the phone you open the assistant's app and write. The connector is already there, because it belongs to your account, not to the device.

The PC does the work; the phone only carries the conversation. That is why it works fine on a normal mobile connection.

Frequently asked questions

Does the PC need to stay on?

Yes. The PC must be on and online; after a reboot DeskManager reconnects by itself.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes: it only depends on the assistant's app, which exists for both. Nothing of ours is installed on the phone.

Is it safe?

The PC opens no ports and access goes through authentication; every assistant has its own key you can switch off. Operations that cannot be undone ask for confirmation.

Turn your phone into your PC's remote control. Ten-minute setup.
